Pakistan Defeated England Despite Partial Umpiring

Pak-HockeyLAHORE: The national hockey team returned home after bagging great victory of test series against England, Geo News reported Sunday. National team Coach Shahid Ali Khan said despite partial umpiring, Pakistan defeated England at their home ground. The national hockey team including 17 players, three officials including Coach Shahid Ali, arrived home in Lahore this morning by Pakistan International Airlines. While, Goalkeeper Salman Akbar and Asif Bajwah did not accompany the team from London. Talking to media at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Shahid Ali said the team played very well, adding the combination of junior and senior players turned out very good. The future of hockey is bright in Pakistan, he added. Captain Zeeshan Ashraf Pakistan Hockey Federation should hold matches with strong teams of Holland and Germany, so that the fitness and game of the players could be enhanced.

Pakistan Hockey Team Defeated England – Winning Series By 2-0

Pak-Eng-HockeyLONDON: Pakistan hockey team has defeated England convincingly in the second test mach here by 3-2 goals, thus bagging the three-match test series by 2-0 on Friday, Geo news said.
In the thirteenth minute of the first half, Waqas Shareef scored first goal from Pakistan while Muhammad Imran, scoring second goal from Pakistan in the twenty-fifth minute of the first half, got Pakistan 2-0 lead.
The team gradually lost grip on the match in the second half but in the fifty-fifth minute of the match, Hafeez Khan made the third goal from Pakistan however, English team, coming back into the game, had managed to score two goals thirteen minutes before the final whistle of the match.
Consequently, Pakistan hockey thrashed England by 3-2 in the second test match, winning the test series by 2-0.

KARACHI ( 2009-06-11 20:14:33 ) : Pakistan junior hockey team beat Argentina by 3-2 today in Junior Hockey World Cup in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

Pakistan has won Junior World Cup title 30 years back in 1979.

Pakistan has defeated Russia and Egypt earlier in the tournament formidably by 7-2 and 3-0 respectively. Haseem Khan scored a hat-trick in the first match while in the second match he scored two goals.

Pakistan Vs Korea – Asia Cup Hockey Final Today

asia-cup-finalLAHORE: Pakistan cruised to the final of 8th Men’s Asia Cup after beating hosts Malaysia by 4-2 in the second semi-final at Kuantan, Malaysia on Thursday. Earlier, Korea beat China by 5-1 in the first semi final.
The final match between Pakistan and Korea will be played on 16th May. According to the information received from Malaysia, the match between Pakistan and Malaysia match was played at a fast tempo.
Pakistan outplayed Malaysia in all fields. The match was tied by 1-1 at the end of the first half. Abu Ismail of Malaysia scored the first goal in 3rd minute. Rehan Butt leveled the goal in 18th minute. Akhtar Ali scored the second goal from Pakistan in 46th minute.
Rehan Butt scored the third goal in 63rd minute, while Abdul Haseem Khan scored the fourth goal in 67th minute. Malaysia got its fourth penalty corner in the last 70th minute of the match. Angkoo Malek scored the second goal on that penalty corner. India and
Japan will play the match for 5th and 6th position on Friday. Final match between Pakistan and Korea will be played on 16th May at 1730 (PST), while bronze medal match will be played between China and Malaysia at 1500 (PST) on Saturday.

Pakistan In Asia Cup hockey Final

pakistan-hockeyKUANTAN: Pakistan crushed Malaysia 4-2 to qualify for the final of the Asia Cup Hockey Tournament here on Thursday.
They will now meet South Korea in the final on Saturday.
In the semi-final, three-time champions Pakistan outplayed hosts Malaysia by a convincing margin of 4 goals against two.
For Pakistan, Rehan Butt scored two goals while haseem Khan and Akhtar Ali netted one goal each.
On the other hand, Ismail Abu made both goals for Malaysia.
This may be recalled that Pakistan after a long period have entered the final of any international tournament.
In the other semi-final, South Korea defeated China 5-1 while India beat Bangladesh 11-1 to secure the seventh position in the tournament.
