Kashmiris To Mark Black Day Against Indian Occupation

Posted on Jan 26, 2010 under News, World News | 1 Comment

SRINAGAR: Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and across the world will observe Indian Republic Day – today – as Black Day to convey to the international community that Indian claim of being a democratic republic is a hoax as it continues to deny the Kashmiris their right to self-determination, reports KMS.
Call for the observance of the Day has been given by the APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader Syed Ali Gilani and the High Court Bar Association.
The day will be marked by a complete strike in occupied Kashmir with all business establishments, offices, banks and courts remaining closed.
Ahead of the Black Day, tomorrow, a red alert has been sounded in the occupied territory, with Indian troops and police intensifying their search operations and frisking of pedestrians and motorists.
The areas around Bakhshi Stadium, the venue of the main official function in Srinagar, are under siege as the troops have strengthened their vigil by occupying all high-rise buildings. Surveillance cameras have also been installed around the Stadium.
On the other hand, forceful anti-India demonstrations, marked with complete shutdown, continued for the second consecutive day, Monday against the killing of a civilian by Indian troops in Kalampora area of Pulwama. Senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, along with a dozen Hurriyet activists, was arrested at Kakpora while on his way to visit the family of the martyred.
The APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in a statement issued in Srinagar on Monday strongly denounced the killing of the civilian and the arrest of Shabbir Ahmad Shah. He said that withdrawal of Indian troops was imperative to bring an end to the human rights violations in the occupied territory.

Indian Air Force Vice Chief: We Don’t Even Match Up With Pakistan As Far As Defense Goes

Posted on Nov 20, 2009 under Army, International, News, World News | 1 Comment

P_K_BarboraTwo days after he said women could be recruited as fighter pilots only if they did not become mothers till a certain age, Vice Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal P K Barbora on Thursday took a swipe at the political class, saying politics over defense purchases impinged “very badly” on the country’s military requirements.
“As far as defense goes, we don’t even match up with Pakistan,” Barbora, while referring to Defense exports, told an aerospace seminar organized in New Delhi by the CII.
“The internal politics over the years is such that whatever defense requirements are cleared by the government, they are opposed by the opposition parties and the same happens when roles change and the opposition sits in government. That impinges very badly on our defense requirements.”
He asked the private defense industry to take note of the China example on reverse engineering of defense technologies. “Forget about ethics. China has done reverse engineering. Has anyone ever had the courage to ask China why are you doing it? No one cares a hoot. If you can’t do it yourself, you should know how to do reverse engineering.”
He took on the defense PSU sector, especially in the aviation industry, saying India does not even contribute to one percent of the global industry. He said Indian PSUs have remained happy manufacturing doors of Airbus aircraft while China has gone ahead and started mass producing commercial jets.

India’s Pokhran Nuclear Test – A Failure Claimed Indian Scientist

Posted on Aug 27, 2009 under Army, General, News, World News | No Comment

PokhranNEW DELHI: The 1998 Pokhran II nuclear tests might have been far from the success they have been claimed to be. The yield of the thermonuclear explosions was actually much below expectations and the tests were perhaps more a fizzle rather than a big bang.
The controversy over the yield of the tests, previously questioned by foreign agencies, has been given a fresh lease of life with K Santhanam, senior scientist and DRDO representative at Pokhran II, admitting for the first time that the only thermonuclear device tested was a “fizzle”. In nuclear parlance, a test is described as a fizzle when it fails to meet the desired yield.
Santhanam, who was director for 1998 test site preparations, said that the yield for the thermonuclear test, or hydrogen bomb in popular usage, was much lower than what was claimed. Santhanam, who was DRDO’s chief advisor, could well have opened up the debate on whether or not India should sign CTBT as claims that India has all the data required and can manage with simulations is bound to be called into question.
Based upon the seismic measurements and expert opinion from world over, it is clear that the yield in the thermonuclear device test was much lower than what was claimed. I think it is well documented and that is why I assert that India should not rush into signing the CTBT,” said Santhanam.
He emphasized the need for India to conduct more tests to improve its nuclear weapon programme.
The test was said to have yielded 45 kilotons (KT) but was challenged by western experts who said it was not more than 20 KT.  Watch video by Time of India.

Moreover, its interesting to know that India only has one tested Missile as far as India’s Missile Technology is concerned

Indian Missile Technology Reported By Indian Media

Posted on Aug 27, 2009 under Army, News, World News | 4 Comments

PrithviIndian army is bigger than Pakistani army and India is spending more on army then Pakistan. But it is very interesting that the 250 km ‘Prithvi’ is the only fully tested, functional, and ready deployed nuclear-capable missile that India has in its arsenal. Pakistan’s 2,500 km ‘Ghauri’ on the other hand is able to reach all major Indian cities, with Ghauri III (3,500) and Tipu (4,500) nearing testing stage. With all these facts in front i wonder what was that slogan that India shouted. “Bharat lay ga 10 kadam, aur Pakistan ho jaye ga khatam”.

Well lets see what Indian media is reporting about their missile technology.

Senior Leader Jaswant Singh Dismissed From BJP

Posted on Aug 21, 2009 under News, Politics, World News | No Comment

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Wednesday expelled senior leader Jaswant Singh from the primary membership of the party two days after the release of his book praising Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan.
The decision to expel Singh, a Lok Sabha member and a former Union Minister, was taken at the Parliamentary Board of the party which met in Shimla during the opening session of the three-day brainstorming session of the top leaders here.
President Rajnath Singh, who had yesterday issued a statement totally distancing the party from Jaswant Singh’s book “Jinnah – India, Partition, Independence”, announced the decision to the media here.
“I had issued a statement yesterday that the party fully dissociates itself from the contents of the book. Today, I put up the matter before the Parliamentary Board which decided to end his primary membership.  So he has been expelled. From now onwards he will not be a member of any body of the party or be an office bearer,” he said on the expulsion of the 71-year-old party veteran.
Rajnath Singh said yesterday he had told Jaswant Singh not to come to Shimla for participating in the ‘chintan baithak’.  Jaswant Singh has been having an uneasy relationship with the party leadership ever since the Lok Sabha elections on which he had circulated a note demanding thorough discussion on the debacle.
